When tyres are worn, their ability to dissipate water is diminished, therefore reducing the effectiveness and ultimately grip levels of the tyre.
Worn, damaged or unsuitable tyres will also cause indirect deficiencies in fuel consumption, braking distances and cornering potential. The bottom line is, always check your tyres before any journey, no matter how short, it could be a matter of life and death.
